Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said that there is a need to strengthen relations between Pakistan and Belarus through sustained engagement of chambers of commerce and other business forums. The speaker expressed these views in a meeting with Ambassador of Belarus Andrei Ermolovich here at the Parliament House on Thursday.

He called for greater interaction and people-to-people contacts with Belarus. He underlined the need for expansion of economic relations through sustained engagement of chambers of commerce and other business forums. He further said that Pakistan was keen to benefit from Belarus' trade, agriculture and manufacturing sectors.

He stressed the need for more parliamentary cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus. Andrei Ermolovich agreed with the speaker and said Belarusian Parliament would be delighted to enhance its relations with Pakistani Parliament so that understanding and cooperation between both the countries could be further pursued. He said Pakistan was an important trade partner of Belarus and was interested in broadening trade with Pakistan as both the countries had immense potential to expand bilateral trade and economic relations in diverse fields.
